fabulous night!!! put in some hours at the state today, before racing downtown to meet micah at the 930 club for the Starsailor show... (racing whilst listening to "justinFM" on the hot 995, i must add... all justin, all day... meaning some old skool 'nsync... SO GREAT!)
anywho, went to a really nice little bar by the club for some drinks, dinner, and catch-up. hadn't seen micah since the reggae fest a couple weeks ago, but i was so out of it that day i'm surprised i even remember him being there. micah's got a great new job, and he's about to get a great new apartment... WOW i am jealous of people that can growup without kicking and screaming the whole way!
i knew the show wasn't sold out, but i was wholly unprepared for exactly HOW not sold out it really was... seriously, i haven't seen the 930 so empty since that random benefit show gavin did before his album was released... that time there were maybe 40 people, tonight there were maybe 300... in a club that holds 1400, it was basically empty. i felt bad, as if the band felt underwhelmed by the crowd, but the energy was there, nonetheless.
clearly, from the pic, despite having dinner and not going in until nearly 830, micah and i secured a killer spot right against the stage, love it! such a drastic change from the starsailor show in london, where helen and i stood in SWELTERING heat for an hour while the band watched the manchester U match backstage! ;)
the band was in great spirits, played a nice mix of songs from all three albums. oh, and guess who snagged a setlist? yay! :) kudos to micah for not being afraid to be *that guy* at a concert!
