rack em sack em

it's been a couple days. spent the weekend @ the state... long night friday which concluded with a (re)lapse in judgement... [which i should feel bad about i guess, but oh well, anything's better than the last (re)lapse in judgement..].. much longer night saturday which concluded with a long heart to heart with the most unlikely of characters. :) where's this courtney been for the last ten months?

i went to bed around 4.30am sunday morning, and wanted to shoot myself in the head when the alarm went off @ 9.30am. i hit the snooze til around 10.30, then angrily forced myself into the shower so i could head down to the 'burg for some family fun and fellowship. a promise is a promise, afterall. luckily the weather finally cleared up a bit so 'twas a gorgeous drive down to the valley. got to the farm around 1.30pm, and immediately headed to the church with ashlie & the g'parents. if i do say so myself, ashlie & i set up a fabulous party, and entertained granddad immensely with our crazy antics. the party didn't end til 9pm!!!! at which point ashlie headed back to her man, and i tried not to kill myself from pure fatigue.

sad news from the state tonight.... one of our staff members lost a brother over the weekend... she wasn't my best friend but unexpected loss is horrible no matter who you are... and it's a grim reminder of how quickly life can change. my thoughts are with her.
