many seasons to feel glad, sad, mad

on a day as utterly stupid as today, all you can really do is listen to travis and suck it up...
(especially when you stupidly left your new rufus cd at work)

i am choosing NOT to fret over all the stupidity of today. in an effort to end my bad mood before it ruins my entire weekend, i've composed a list of things that i love. it's not a surprising list, but an important one to remember on days like this.

1. My Cats - Jimi hears my car coming and greets me at the door everyday.
I woke up this morning literally sleeping cheek to cheek with Lucky.
With kids like mine, no wonder i'm late to work every single day.

2. My Car - It's so beautiful and red. I don't have quite the memories that I had with my 1988 ... but i will.

3. My School - GMU is the greatest school in the world. I love it for its flaws and I love it for its character. I would give anything to go back to freshman year and start all over again. I would spend way more time on campus being a student and way less time working stupid jobs.

3. My Music - I love my cds. I have the best collection in the world, and a really good new cd in my life is like a breath of fresh air. (case in point: rufus wainwright, want2.)

4. Sunshine - It's so great. There's far too little of it this time of year.

Briefly (because misery loves me)
Things I do not love include: traffic laws, insensitive boys, intrusive coworkers, hypocritical friends, sunless days, crappy music and people who don't realize how crappy said music actually is.

Sometimes I think all the problems of the world would be solved if I just had a hot man to sing 'flowers in the window' to me. ... and mean it.
