I’d dance a thousand steps for you

anyone who knows me is familiar with the fact that i am slightly obsessive about... well, everything. music, movies, friends, christina... even the boys i date. inevitably i get sick of my obsessions, and i want nothing more to do with them. if i sit down and think about the situation long enough, i'm amazed that my devotion to DMB has been so steadfast for over six years. (and it actually gives me hope that someday this rare ability to remain interested in something will spread to other aspects of my life... umm, relationships much?)

ANYWAY... these are my four current obsessions. it's got to stop:

1. GLEN! GLEN GLEN GLEN! - that starbucks commercial. go here. i literally watch it at least three times a day because it makes me laugh like nothing else in the whole world. i'm so anxious thinking about the inevitable day when i become sick of it, because that will be a sad sad sad day indeed. but for now, the more i watch it, the funnier it gets. today the reflection of the keyboardist rocking it out while glen brushes his teeth is the funniest part to me.

2. Law & Order: SVU - About 3 weeks after i moved home, i discovered one night that this show comes on every night at 11:30pm. i'm a vain leo, i can admit that at first i tuned in b/c of my supposed resemblence to stephanie march, but it was truly the riveting drama that keeps me tuning in night after night. so good. and it's the fact that i'm so riveted night after night that directly contributes to me oversleeping every single morning and averaging about 20 minutes late. employee of the month, that's me. but at least i know that it was tommy's father that sent his mother into hiding b/c he beat her and later killed tommy's stepmother in front of tommy. that bastard!

3. WTOP - The minivan i've been rocking for the past week had this station as one of the presets, and i love it's non-partisan news coverage, i can't help it! it's so nice to listen to a news broadcast that isn't shoved up W's rear. and they broadcast traffic reports so frequently, i actually feel like i'm being helped with my morning and evening commutes. thank you, associated press!!!!

4. Sugar Will - one of the new songs by the dave matthews band. when i first heard a recording of this song from the tour opener, i was not impressed. but by the time i heard it performed live over a month into the tour, i was blown away. the song grew a lot of the summer. i can't stop listening to the alpine verision of this song, i've had it on repeat for a week and now i fill the (admitedly brief) commerical breaks on WTOP.

things i am NOT currently obsessed with include: minivans, my job, crashing my car, drinking on school nights, and anonymous commenters with no respect.

I’d dance a thousand steps for you
If you say yes to me
I’ll be whatever gets you through"

not sugar will, but just as good.
