let's do it, let's fall in love
 
the word of the week is 'pro-active'... i'm all about not wasting any more time.
 
today, for example, i decided i was sick of being annoyed and sick of feeling lonely so i went to trader joe's on my lunch break and bought myself a fantastic dozen yellow roses!!!  and no, i'm not kidding!!  :)  they are soooo beautiful and everyone at my work commented on them. (who needs a spotlight?  me?  never!) 
 at first i lied and said they were from my boyfriend, but that felt unnecessary so after an hour i switched my story to "a secret admirer"... lol... "i don't know who they're from, they just showed up on my desk.... aren't i the cutest?"  haha.
 
what an amazingly exhuasting week!!!  monday, of course, was my much-needed date with myself to see de-lovely and then tuesday i went to see farhenheit 9/11 with tina on the spur of the moment.  then we went to some place in alexandria to meet up with a whole brood of irish people (to which yusef reacted: "omg would you pick a new race already???")  a few cape cods later and i had pretty much invited the entire country of ireland to my birthday party... sigh... me and my damn birthday....  anyway but it was lots of fun and i woke up with an unbelieveable headache wednesday morning.  [i might brag about the fact that one of that irish brood is an irish soap star, but my most favorite irish person abruptly informed me that that's NOT something to brag about.... so i won't brag.... i'll just sit here and pout.... about people being abrupt and hurting my feelings...... ]
 
wednesday at work i made a definitive vow to stay and home and recover from tuesday night.... which lasted until i remembered that it was chris' going away party and i could NOT miss it!!!!  sooooo tina and i got all fancied up AGAIN and went down to check out halo for  second, then went to chaos to see marie... had a couple shots and then paraded down to cobalts...

for anyone that doesn't know, i think i'm correct when i say that cobalt is the first bar i ever went to with the intention of drinking... i know it was among the very first anyway.  i was 17 or 18 and lucky enough to pass for .... i dunno... they let me in whatever the case... but my has that place changed!!!
it was soooooo good to see chris before he left!  i'm so glad i went!  i got to meet the INFAMOUS gretchen, who exceeded the hype and i'm so excited about  the idea of hanging out with her.  chris has a wonderful group of friends,  and they're very easy on the eyes too! (and yet, not a single one interested in me!!!)  ;~)   peter was dj-ing and despite my 'pro-active' theme of the week i did not feel pro-active enough to get up on the karaoke stage...

anyway so now it's thursday and it looks like i'm getting ready to be pro-active again and not stay home a single night this week.
