so this is where we stand.
for those not in the blogsphere, blogger.com has changed to reflect some crazy partnership with gmail... this happened months ago but blogger said accounts didn't have to update unless the user wanted to. cut to yesterday i logged in and was forced to change, blah. okay fine, whatever. then i wrote possibly the longest post of all time, only to find out that i needed to re-login to confirm the transition and my long post was gone with the wind..... so, i was a little peeved to say the least.
here we are, march 1st, 2007. many things to discuss. been across the pond and back again, got some closure and made some decisions.
february started somewhat bleakly. the day job reached a new level of annoying, but the appeal of the almighty dollar kept me hanging on, determined to make it work for the time being. went to philly on groundhog's day with the amazing roxanne to see the amazing paolo... good times! returned to work on monday only to be shown the door. mixed emotions... sad that the job search had to start again, but overwhelmingly relieved to be out of the situation. timing couldn't have been better, as i was able to accompany my mom to c'ville to take my g-dad to the doctor. went up to mary-weird-land on wednesday for some madge and L*O*S*T with the happy couple in their new pad. over the next several days i reflected on my november vow to return with my favorite show as a better and more happy person. at first i was disappointed in myself that i hadn't made many changes, but then i realized that wasn't the case at all. i am no longer in the job that i hate, back on good terms with mr. Y, ready to jump the pond, and prepared to face the heartbreaker head-on via a crafty email. i think i often become obsessed with reaching perfection but, let's face it, there's no such thing as perfection. There is no Shangri-La, you know? Every relationship is messed up. What makes it perfect is if you still want to be there when things really suck. carla's words apply to everything, really.
so then i boarded a plane to the closest thing to shangri-la i've ever know, london. arrived early AM on the 15th. i blasted the guille*mots on my ipod and didn't even try to keep the huge smile off my face. boarded the tube to oxford circus to meet the fabulous RAJ at his place of business. got the key to melroseplace and purchased a phone. almost immediately witnessed a 'terror attack' and had to marvel at the fact that the baddies seem to follow me around the planet. shower and a quick nap and then down to waterloo to meet helen and her school friends at a pub. wine, wine, and more wine!!! :) love it! met some crazy british lawyers and drunk courtney waved goodbye to helen as she ran off into the night with her new friends, lol. (why, oh why? who knows.) woke up friday happy to have all my belongings safely in the flat.
friday i walked about london before heading home to shower and change for the guille*mots show in brixton. met helen for some quick dinner before heading south and watching helen get hilariously impatient with every person that crossed our path!!! :) lol. ran into some celebs, not the least of which were the fabulous boys of K--eane! ;) don't turn around!!! DON'T turn around!!! fantastic show, despite the fact i was a new kind of hungover. afterwards headed back to melrose to welcome GITTA to our wonderful reunion, and stayed up til the wee hours with the gang, reminiscing and catching up. :) :) :)
slept in on saturday before heading back to center city for some shopping... (oh hmv, why do i give you ALL my money???) got some amazing cds which i had to put on as soon as i arrived back at the flat. met up with just about everyone before going to dinner at the ammmmazing ciao bella!!! :) decided that evening that if i had nothing to come home to, why not stay??? went to tiger tiger with sharelle, and that's about as much as i remember. lol. you. come here. you're cute, give me your number. now go away! lololol. sunday was another 'thank god i have all my belongings' kind of morning. lol.
the sunday, everything shifted.
to be continued.
