you must not know 'bout me....

i wasn't going to blog today. i really wasn't. i have lots on my mind, and i'm trying to do things one day at a time, and unfortuneately blogging is on the list for next week.

but it's 3.48pm and i'm pretty sure it was 3pm about SEVEN HOURS AGO... in other words, i'm stuck in the longest afternoon EVER.

so, what's up? lots to discuss, i suppose. xmas is this weekend, state theatre party tonight, working both jobs tomorrow before heading to richmond on saturday and harrisonburg later that night. will be in southern virginia for a couple days before returning to NOVA and the day job for a blessedly short week. then, next saturday, sarah and i board a jet plane towards the sunny california coast line!!! :)

so, let's see. last thursday i worked both jobs and foolishly stayed at the state late night boozing it up with the boozehounds. barely woke up for work on friday went straight from one job to another. had a bad night at the state, barely saved by micah's late night arrival. slept in saturday morning before relocating to the couch. despite my desire to get in line for damien as early as possible, i was simply too exhausted to motivate myself. finally got in the shower and pepped myself up by admiring my 'unplayed piano' vinyl, determined to get it signed. headed to the show, got in line around 6pm (doors were at 8pm) and i was suprised to find the line was pretty bearable. after about 40 minutes, yusef & crew rolled up, and showstoppers was back!!!! did you bring money? i think it's $50 to get in. you can't barter!!! david rice is really good, he sings that 'beautiful' song, he has to play it. LOL. i truly pity the sad saps around us. despite not being first in line Y and i managed to snag a front row seat! :) rock on! the rest of the crew were right behind us, with a very angry girl next to them. the opening was fair, but of course Y and i convinced pretty much everyone we were the #1 fans. LOL, i actually started crying at one point, i was so moved by the connection Y had with them. LOL.

throughout the show i harassed Y to request 'unplayed piano'.... and, finally, he broke through the noise and lisa definitely heard him. i still wasn't sure they'd do it... but they did!!! i was so happy i nearly cried. the last time i saw damien was in london, and he was totally solo... i.e. no lisa. it was a great show, but 'unplayed piano' is meant for their voices together, as i was quick to tell both damien and lisa after the show. :) damien isn't signing autographs anymore, but lisa was happy to oblige. :) great conversation. totally worth the wait.... :) maybe we are getting too old for all that, but it's half the fun, you know? :)

sunday i did some xmas shopping, and managed to have one last rendevous with tower records. nothing good was left, but a lot of imports for 50cents, so i bought just about every artist i'd ever heard of more than once. LOL. apparently, i love polyphonic spree. got the infamous JOAN cd, import, no less... for $4. LOL. i'd like to apologize to the girls out front that i was rude to earlier....

this week has been busy. i'm tired, all the time. had another day-job holiday party. snore! i'm completely obsessed with the new be*yonce song. (i think my co-workers are getting a little tired of it as i've had it on repeat all morning..) but, in all fairness, i've always loved the DC girls!!! just last week d-rod told me the DC 'independant women' song reminds him of me, which made me laugh a lot, thinking of those days back in 2001/2002 when it literally WAS my theme song!!!

i get very emotional (in a good way) when i think about going back to london. i've already started putting together a list of things i want to buy, places i want to visit. i think a lot of people think the rufus show being that weekend is NOT a coincidence, but i swear on my life it is. why would i willingly dig up the past???

well, that killed a solid 40 minutes... only 95 more to go!!!
