is it all blue skies??

seriously, there is no way to express in words how much i truly love christina. her voice, her lyrics, her spirit... so inspiring!!! the new album continues to amaze me. and it's hard, because i've gotten several good albums in the past several weeks... (ahem, james morrison, much?? gavin + ray l. (with a splash of lemar) = AMAZING!!!) but Xtina keeps me entertained.

for anyone unsure, the new album, back to basics is a 2 disc set, 22 tracks in total... much like her last album, stripped, there are several brief intro/outro type tracks.... but i swear some of the short one are my favorites. my favorite real tracks so far are disc one "understand" (which hopefully some day i will be able to dedicate to a man) and disc two "mercy on me"... simply gorgeous. tonight i had a short intro-esque track, "welcome", from disc two on repeat the whole night... it starts out so oddly and blossoms into a full-blown plea for clarity (see below)...... breathtaking.....

tonight i was at the state... a goofy, sweet, wonderful heart-felt reunion of the A-team, full of hugs and foul language. (between brian and myself the A-team's been MIA for some 2 weeks....) i love them. i'm sad that the weirdness continues to be the undercurrent of my days at the state. there's a confrontation a-brewing.
