sent pete an email last thursday, very politely asking if i could be on the guest list, as the show as sold out and sarah did not have a ticket. i know, i even offended myself with my nerve... but, he very sweetly came through, because he's my buddy, and a leo too and understands the importance of birthdays. :)
headed up to philly with sarah & carrie friday afternoon.... hit tons of traffic but soon enough we got to the show, (minus a party hat), and set eyes on my boy pete for the first time in over two years. time has been very good to him, he looked amazing. the show was amazing... a record TWO hours!!! in a place roughly the size of my basement.... very small, very intimate... a very magical setting for a birthday. i got some pics on my phone and real camera, but i just didn't feel like fussing with all that all night... i wanted to enjoy the show. he said he'll be doing a bigger, full-fledged tour again later this fall, yay! sarah enjoyed seeing him, felt he had more of a personality this time around. i smacked her and told her to stop talking sh*t about my future husband, lol. seriously though, the hair on that man's head... just gorgeous. our children will be hair models.... what?? who said that??
anyway, on saturday i got a makeover from val & the gang before heading to the ballpark for the cook-off and ball game. it took me quite a while to get going, but we ended the night with a bang at moms. we had perhaps the most friendly reception at moms ever, and i made some important business contacts. ;) woke up sunday on elisa's couch, not entirely sure what was going on. back at the homestead now... busy week ahead. actually, busy couple of months... starsailor's returning to DC!! and jenny lewis, yay!.... luckily the fun doesn't start til october.... since september will be the month of DMB.
