okay *I* do the steering!! not you!

back in VA. let's see...

cost of roundtrip train ticket to nyc: $160
rufus wainwright @ carnegie hall ticket: $95
wrapping my arms around a hot guy while we cruise brooklyn on his bike: priceless
(waking up this morning and finding the R.W. setlist tucked in my bag: icing on the cake...)

:) :) :)

smiles smiles smiles. that's all i can say.
left NOVA in a blaze of glory thursday afternoon, caught the 4:05 train to penn station. barely made it to carnegie by 8pm, was thrilled to find that my seat was in the 11th row!!! :) sitting behind me was antony of antony & the j...'s fame. (...complaining that there weren't enough celebs there, i was like, did you not see me sit down???) hahaha. apparently all the major A-listers were in attendence wednesday night... but i saw enough celebs thursday night to satisfy my needs. i suffered a minor heart-attack when my fav nyc hottie came on stage about 3 songs into the show, dressed to the nines in a black suit. i think my jaw literally hit the floor. of course i've always thought he was gorgeous but i had no idea he cleaned up so well. :)
LOVED LOVED LOVED the show... i got a lil' teary during 'somewhere over the rainbow', even though i've heard rufus perform it before, it was somehow more magical in carnegie hall. the show seemed to fly by, it was over entirely too soon. i can't wait for the DVD release! and, i have it on very good authority that the thurs. night show was the better of the two.. "rufus was more relaxed, less by the book"... :)

after the show i dodged the celebs to find my hottie to get keys to the love shack ;) and then met up with REBECCA! and her new man, martin. :) given that i hadn't seen rebecca in the flesh since my leaving london party last august, i was a justifiably hot mess. :) that, and i was still on rufus/hottie cloud nine.
had a couple rounds with rebecca and martin before heading to brooklyn. arrived with perfect timing and got to tell my hottie exactly how hot i truly thought he was. :) we headed to our usual place, and went to bed in the wee hours of the night. ;)

friday i got beautiful and headed back to manhattan to meet micah for the conan taping. just barely made the cut-off and somehow managed to be at the front of the line. :) love it. great show, chris issack ended up being the musical guest. conan and micah are apparently old friends, which was news to me. ;)
after the taping we ran around nyc, causing trouble. had some drinks and were accused of being a beautiful interracial couple, hahaha. finally said goodbye to micah and headed back to brooklyn to have a late dinner and some margs with the hottie. he decided we should take his bike, which sounded like a good idea, and ended up being fantastic... except for the first ten minutes, during which time i was completely convinced i was going to die and apparently made it almost impossible for him to drive. haha. after i relaxed and realized how hot we looked, i calmed down and enjoyed it. which is good since he decided to take the scenic route and drive for an extra 30 minutes. hahaha. i definitely want to get my own bike, so i can be in the driver's seat.
another late night (altho not as late as thursday)... but good, good times. :) just what i needed. santa claus apparently visited during the night and left rufus' setlist in my bag. :) happiness!
