a piece of truth...

for the single woman, every bar is a workstation.
wednesday september 1st, 2004: as i drive to work this morning in ridiculous traffic i am convinced that september is clearly going to be the worst month ever -- because i had overslept and started the whole thing out on the wrong foot. then, suddenly, i get to work and open my email to find a fantastic ecard in my inbox.
single-handedly saved the whole month! :)
anyway, school started!!! AHHHH. i put on my cute outfit to impress my professory/classmates on tuesday only to realize that the work load will take all the fun out of bothering to look cute each week. (who knew? grad school would be hard!) my classes are going to be SO much work, and i haven't even been to my Lit. class yet. oh well, more on this in the coming weeks, no doubt. i now have three different email accounts to check, my work email, GMU email, and my precious yahoo account. TOO much. someone's gonna suffer.
i must admit, making mix CDs has got to be my favorite past-time. it's so invigorating!!! it's a reminder of the fact that i am RICH with amazing music. :) lucky's helping me work on the latest edition of my international imports and i must say i am quite impressed with myself. there's a fine art to combining subtle underlying themes with humorous tracks without going overboard or stepping into the untasteful. mix CDs are slightly less exciting than the old-fashioned mixed cassette tape, but what can you do?
so i signed up for a live journal so i can continue to read micah's as he makes it private. to all live journal users: THIS IS SO ANNOYING!!!! seriously, what is the point of having a place to keep your thoughts, if you choosing who to keep them FROM. my blog is for everyone, regardless of how pissed off they get at what i have to say!!! (okay, who am i kidding, there are many people in this world that will NEVER know about my blog... haha, hypocrite am i.)
anyway, some of you might recall me mentioning last week that i'm working on a very large post, as part of a project i'm been trying to finish forEVER. well, that post is coming... probably tomorrow. i've finished all i can finish without shooting myself in the head.
tomorrow's another long day, like yesterday... working 9.30 (or 9.45) to 6, then class from 7 to 10. *sigh* the life of a working girl/academic. friday was supposed to be liz phair at the 9.30 club, but shannon's grandmother has taken a turn for the worse so that might not work out. sucks on many many levels.
i wanted to take a last minute beach run but it appears that no one will go with me. bastards. oh well, at least it's a three day weekend.

still it haunts me
