i am rich with the music of damien rice.

i can't believe i didn't realize this earlier, but tower records is, quite literally, RIGHT on my way home. this means that as much of a temptation Plan9 was, being right next door to my piano teacher in harrisonburg, Tower Records is much much worse! i spent $50 today.... this is going to be bad. (and why oh why did they have a great big 'now hiring part-time' sign in the window??? see you later free weekends, i miss music retail!!!!)

i got the new damien rice b-sides cd, cyndi lauper's live DVD, a couple mags, and the scissor sisters cd. ilike their single, and any band that's come "straight out of elton john's closet" is a band i need to check out!!! :)

oh! i guess i haven't discussed the cyndi lauper concert tuesday night. 'twas amazing!!!! :) seriously, i could not have been more impressed. actually, i could have been more impressed... if taylor dayne hadn't completely RUINED 'time after time'... i mean, has she ever even HEARD the song before??? such an unnecessary duet. but ohwell, micah got me in for free, i won't complain about a thing! it was pretty funny though, singing 'girls just want to have fun' in a audience largely consisting of gay men. ha. love my gay men!!! :)

last night i saw 'the village' with claire and rania. i was really disappointed. it was scary at all and the end was really bizarre. (keep in mind though, i'm complaining about it not being scary yet i sat with my fingers over my eyes during two crucial parts. haha oh well. almost everything's less scary with your eyes closed.

anyway, i need to pack!!! WISCONSIN TOMORROW!!!! ahhhhhhhhh i can't believe it's so soon. i can't believe i'm still going after all the nonsense. i'm so excited i could scream.

and THEN i get back and it's my BIRTHDAY on Wednesday!!!!!!!!!!!

allow me a brief post-lyric tirade here, if you will. friday night tina and i went out with some irish boys (see hangover entries from last week) and at some point in the evening i turned the conversation to music (as i often do) and one irish boy had never heard of damien and the other was like "oh yeah... whatever"... and i was so annoyed, because damien's a certifiable genius and if he were from my country i'd be shouting it from the rooftops and bragging about how much better my country was then yours... i already do that domesticly - just think of all the free press i do for virginia's own dave matthews band...
