i don't know what it is...

Finally, a chance to catch up with allll the wonderful things happening right now.

started the new job this week. amazing how easy it's been for me to settle back into NOVA-life. i guess on some level i never really left. the new job is cool, blah blah blah. quite frankly talking about my job seems very trivial during a week like this.... but i will mention that there's a very sexy gideon yago (sp? -- the mtv vj) -lookalike at my office. and since i find him incredibly attractive, you can bet that he's either (a) married or (more likely) (b) gay. c'est la vie pour moi.

anyway, solely due to laziness i'm going to recap the rufus/ben nights from an email i wrote earlier:

so tuesday night i had front row center for the wolf trap show. i got a doz. roses on my lunch break for rufus and gave them
to him after his last song... is that crazy? i felt a little crazy. but i had to do it, girls are always giving him flowers. at least i didn't write some crazy love letter with my phone number in it. he was very happy to get them... i was so proud!

the biggest dilemma was where to keep them during the afternoon before i left work to go to the show. i didn't want to leave them in my car because it was 1 billion degrees outside but i didn't want to bring them into my office b/c people would be like "oh are those from your boyfriend?" and i'd have to be like "actually no, they're for the gay man i'm obsessed with." and they'd be like "okay insane new girl...." haha.

anyway, the shows were AMAZING. it was just rufus on piano and guitar. the highlights of the night were 11:11, Hallejuah, One Man Guy, and Grey Gardens. His mother, Kate McGarrigle, came out and played piano while he sang "Somewhere Over the Rainbow"... it was SO GOOD. ... then, much later in the night during Ben
Folds' set Rufus came out and they sang "Careless Whisper"....!!! Ben also sang a song he wrote about Elliott Smith called "Too Late"... yet another song i think you should try to download. The baltimore show was pretty similar and equally amazing but i wasn't front row center and there were no flowers so it wasn't quite as magical.

ahhh i have so much more to say, including my recent revelation as to why my love life sucks ass, but 'flashdance' is on vh1 and it's the Gloria sequence.... gotta go....

calling gloorrrriiiaa! (gloria!)

"But I was alive
And kicking through this cruel world
holding a notion of you at 11:11
Tell me what else can I do?
What else can I do?"
~rufus

was it something that they said? all the voices in your head? calling gloria?
