need s'more??

just got back from a PG-13 night out with Tracy and my cousin Laura. The Richmond college girls, (VCU & UofR, respectively) got the Courtney Caldwell-whirlwind tour of DC tonight. i showed them my highlights, but i think the meaning behind places such as the black cat and the 9:30 club were lost on my little Laura of Troutville. i'm not sure what she had envisioned us doing tonight, but the sad reality is that there's just not a whole lot for the under 21 crowd... at least not a whole lot of non-redneck activities. so, we settled on dinner in Shirlington, a car tour of DC, 'bend it like beckham' at the Shirlington movie theatre, and finally s'mores and lattes at Cosi in Old Town Alexandria. after cosi we walked along the waterfront for a bit. but it was bittersweet because i kept pointing out all these ideal date locations and there were a billion couples walking around being happy yet i have no one to even be interested in... :(
we were trying to go to nation to see marie but timing was just against us. by the time the movie got out it was 11pm, and Laura had hoped to be in relatively early since she has to be up at 7am tomorrow on the road to her class in Front Royal. i think nation would have freaked her out... i dunno, maybe i'm not giving her enough credit. we had some interesting conversation over dinner at Guapos. i think my little girl is growing up!
earlier today i worked with tracy and we had a blast as usual until mike came in and busted up the party. he's so square. i think i might have *finally* gotten my transfer to harrisonburg straightened out although i definitely can't count on that for a steady paycheck. four years with transworld and this is what i have to deal with. whatever they suck.

ahhh! yusef just called me to fill me in on his night at apex and jimi took my chair while i was talking to yusef!! now i definitely have to go to bed. once jimi takes the chair then there's no going back. ;)
