lay me on the water

what a bizarre day. i watched christina ricci in 'pumpkin' before bed last night (so i finished around 3AM this morning) and i can't say i loved it but i definitely can't say i hated it. if i had more energy i'd go into a more in-depth explanation but sadly i don't.
i was scheduled to work today from 9 to 3 but i was 40 minutes late so i decided to stay until 4 to make up some time. so, mike took it upon himself (without saying anything to me) to reduce my hours for tomorrow to make up for my extra time today by changing my schedule to 5 to 10 tomorrow. when i have to get to woodbridge at 5 i have to sit in traffic for at least an hour which is why i never schedule myself for that. long story short... that plus all the other BS at work plus general stress in my life resulted in WW3 in the store. mike and i were actually yelling at each other. i think i won, but i'm not sure. i truly dislike him. i can't wait to leave that store forever. joe called me from his cell phone as i was driving home to make sure i was okay. he knew that if i called from the store i wouldnn't answer. smart man.
tracy (dj tray-z) made me an AWESOME mix as a total surprise yesterday!!!! i love it sooooo much. Pirates, Summer Time, DMB remix (!), LIVE CLAY! and LIVE AMAZING GAVIN DEGRAW!!!!!! "lay me on the water"... so beautiful i want to cry. for a brief, shiny second today at work i almost gained back a dash of respect for mike b/c he stopped at the end of "lay me on the water" and goes "good lord who was that courtney??? that was awesome!"... gavin breaks down all barriers..... ahhhh...
but then mike went and turned the volume down on the store system, returning the store to it's normal library-like state, and i remember why MIKE *IS* the MAN.
and i say DAMN THE MAN.

then i came home, when shopping with my mom, got some dinner, FINALLY mailed my resumes off to some firms in Harrisonburg, and saw Yusef at B & N... although, as we drove off i noticed that the outside lights aren't completely working so it actually says "BARN &"... plus the '&' looks like a big E so it reads like BARN E... the big purple dinosaur.
Yusef played me all his most recent voicemails and believe me, he is a popular boy. i need to sign up for friendster... ahhhh, probably not til AFTER san diego... where is the summer going???? Yusef had an amazingly balanced weekend and i'm really glad. two sucky nights in one weekend are not fair. i'm happy his saturday rullllled the world!!!! but what on EARTH is a fifth valve??

i'm sooooo tired. i wanted to watch 'velvet goldmine' tonight but that will have to wait til tomorrow. and i have to PACK tomorrow... SAN DIEGO. i can't wait for REAL sunshine.
