the future mrs. jack sparrow
dad called at 8:45am this morning to tell me he was too sick for me to come down to visit. it sucks, i plan my schedules so specifically that having two days off in a row with nothing to do kind of freaks me out. i really wish i had made a back up plan, i was looking forward to going out of town for a couple hours. i could have gone to richmond to get my hair done, and considering that i'm going to san diego in a week i probably should have done that but oh well. ps- it's funny that my dad and i are so similiar that not only did he call 15 minutes after i had said i would be leaving, but he had no doubt that i would still be home. my dad only pretends to be punctual, in reality he's typically just as tardy as i am.
so i went back to sleep for a little bit then nagged tracy til she agreed to go see 'pirates of the caribbean' with me. after shopping with my mom for a bit it was time to head up to fairfax towne center for the 3.50 showing. 2 gigantic sodas, one free rachel ferris cd, a freezing theatre and 2 hot movie stars adds up to my most favorite movie of the summer!!! oh my god. orlando bloom... droooool. johnny depp... a little less drool than mr. bloom but droool nonetheless. orlando played will turner, a respectable blacksmith unaware of his pirate legacy. johnny depp played jack sparrow, the goofy yet brillant and ballsy pirate in search of the black pearl.
it was gross watching orlando make out with a pretty girl, but there was only one kiss and it wasn't til the end of the movie, thank god. johnny depp was amazing and i *heart* jack sparrow. tracy and i had a very serious conversation over Baja Fresh afterwards regarding women and why they always fall for the unattainable guys. i decided that every girl wants to be the one that forces men like jack sparrow to settle down and movies like 'grease' are bad b/c sandy taming danny only gets our hopes up that the impossible is somehow possible through the strategic use of spandex pants and a cigarette.
after the movie and Baja Fresh i came home and watched some tv. nothing entertaining at all. tomorrow night is tracy's party and friday marks one week til san diego.
jimi's curled up in my lap and not taking no for an answer.
off to bed.
final thought: tracy was amazed that i instantly recognized that the music in baja fresh was simply spanish versions of american disco tunes. it's the MSES- music store employee syndrome. sad sad sad.
